The Fan Park opened on Thursday in the presence of former five-time winner of the Tour de France Bernard Hinault on Place de Brouckère, Brussels.

It will offer many activities until Sunday on the fringe of the “Grand depart” this week-end.

The attendance figures will not be released by the organizers before Sunday evening, but the public wasn’t as numerous on Friday as the day before on the Grand Place for the presentation of the pack.

Around fifty stands are run by Tour de France sponsors who propose various activities to the public, including driving, biking or even fishing simulators, fortune wheels with prizes galore. Presentations and quizzes are organized on the podium. BMX shows are held four times a day.

The Fan Park aims to be more educational and turned towards the future. At the "Tour Workshops" you’ll find tracks for learner bikes and bicycles for children, how to repair and maintain your bicycle, or a space to test electric bicycles.

The Tour’s stages will be broadcast on a giant screen set up in the Fan Park, open from 10 am to 7 pm Saturday and 11 am to 6 pm Sunday.
