The tennis world is mobilized to help the victims to the 'bushfires' that have been ravaging South-eastern Australia, and Belgian players are no exception.

Australian Nick Kyrgios was the first to initiate the movement by deciding to give $200 per ace he would serve during the Australian Tour. Others have followed suit, various stars having agreed to participate in the “AO Rally for Relief,” playing in exhibition matches that were held last Wednesday in the Rod Laver Arena, which raised nearly $5 million.

The Australian Open has also launched a new effort today in Melbourne, hoping to raise even more funds. Dubbed “Tennis Charity Auction,” it offers tennis fans a chance to bid on several items offered by the players. Items already included are rackets that belonged to Serena Williams and Dominic Thiem; Naomi Osaka’s shoes with which she won the US Open in 2018; or the T-shirt worn by the winner of the ATP Finals in London, Stefanos Tsitsipas.

David Goffin and other Belgians have also decided to participate. The Liegeois and his team: Steve Darcis, Kimmer Coppejans, Sander Gille, and Joran Vliegen, thus donated to the auction the picture they drew and signed during the ATP Cup in Sydney.

Just as the other participating teams, led by Spain’s Rafael Nadal and Servia’s Novak Djokovic.
