Opel recalls 145,000 Insignia vehicles including almost 8,000 in Belgium

German carmaker Opel announced it was recalling 144,663 Insignia vehicles because of a potential problem with the automatic opening system for the boot of the estate model. 7,914 cars are concerned in Belgium, reveals Opel Belgium. The problem may affect Insignia Sports Tourer and Country Tourer models, which have an automatic opening/locking system for the boot. The spring may be faulty for vehicles produced between early 2009 and 2015. A possible leak in the spring mechanism may make the boot shut down suddenly. Owners of these models are invited to come and change the potentially faulty part free of charge.
