Belgian-owned marijuana grow operation dismantled in Alicante

Spanish police near Alicante dismantled a marijuana grow operation run by a Belgian-Dutch drugs ring, on Thursday, reveals the Spanish news website ABC. Approximately 1,200 plants were seized, and one person, of as yet unknown origin, was arrested. The drugs were destined for the Dutch market.

The police force launched an investigation when they noticed abnormally high levels of electricity being used in a chalet in Torrellano (Alicante).  Investigators found a plantation of cannabis with all the necessary installations.

The grow operation was run, according to the police, by a Belgian-Dutch drugs ring planning to sell to the Dutch market.
