The French police authorities confirmed on Wednesday morning that the suspected Belgian mastermind behind the Paris terrorist attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was the target behind police raids in the Paris suburb Saint Denis. One female died when she set off a suicide bomb vest inside an apartment at around 4:20 am on Monday, as the French elite force raided the area.
Three men who were hiding in the apartment were arrested and another 2 people were arrested outside the building close by.
One civilian passerby is also reported to have been killed in a shootout that took place during the raid.
Abdelhamid Abaaoud was not found during the raid and is still at large.
