Belgian arrested in Tarifa for theft of luxury goods and money in Luxemburg

A 34-year-old Belgian national has been arrested at the Spanish border post of Tarifa, according to several Spanish newspapers on Tuesday. A European arrest warrant had been issued for the Belgian, by Luxemburg, for the theft of luxury goods and money.

According to Spanish police, the man travelled via ferry from Tangiers to the port of Tarifa where he was arrested as he went through passport control and was found to be the subject of a European warrant issued by Luxemburg. He was transferred to Algeciras police station and will subsequently be presented to the judge for European arrest warrants in Madrid.

According to the police the man is suspected of having stolen luxury items, cash and credit cards that he used to withdraw money from ATMs.
