Self-styled Islamic State - “Belgian beheaded for sorcery by IS” – no investigation for now

For now, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office has not opened an investigation into the Belgian who was allegedly beheaded by Islamic State in Syria, as David Thomson, a Radio France Internationale journalist has reported. Two sources had commented upon the beheading for sorcery of the women, aged 22 and of Moroccan origin. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office does not have sufficient evidence to open an investigation, he stated on Thursday.

“If the facts are confirmed and the woman can be identified, an investigation may be opened. The victim’s family may eventually make a complaint to a local prosecutor’s office, which might, in all likelihood, subsequently pass it on to us.” We refuse to open a separate investigation for each incident or video broadcast,” stated the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.

Sources believe that 52 Belgian women have travaled to Syria, many of whom had links with Sharia4Belgium.
