The Foreign Affairs Minister, Didier Reynders, has offered his condolences to his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, regarding the attack on Berlin's Christmas Market.
A lorry charged into the crowd causing at least 12 deaths and injuries to around a further 48 people.

Yesterday evening (Monday) Mr Reynders arrived in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, where he is to take part in a meeting of European Union and Arab League representatives today.

Reynders lamented when speaking to the Belga press agency, “A genuine tragedy has occurred this evening in Berlin. My first thoughts are with the victim's families.”

He added, “Above all, this is extremely sad for Berlin. This attack has all the hallmarks of the Nice attacks. It is clearly an attack upon the German people and all who share their values. Justice must be done.”
