A Belgian arrested as part of an anti-drug trafficking operation in Spain

A Belgian is one of 27 people who have been arrested by the Spanish police as part of a huge anti-narcotics trafficking operation, several Spanish papers reported on Saturday. The police dismantled an international trafficking network that was selling drugs along the Mediterranean Spanish coast, mainly in the Alicante and Murcie provinces. In total, 27 people, including one Belgian, were arrested in Spain, and two others in Denmark. Spanish police arrested 4 Dutch people, 15 Spanish people, 4 British people, an Irish person, a Belgian, an Austrian, and a Ecuadorian. The network had connections in several European countries. They were mainly selling Ecstasy, speed, marijuana, and hashish.

During searches of 13 houses, the police found 36.7kg of speed, 2,205 ecstasy pills, 170kg of hashish pollen, 224 kilos of dried marijuana seeds, and 3 kilos of hashish. Three marijuana plantations, containing more than 2,000 plants, were also dismantled. Drug conditioning material, guns, and 166,490 euros in cash were also seized by police.
