The international #SheIsEqual campaign for women's rights launched by the Minister for International Development, Alexander De Croo, raised 780 million euros, which is much more than the expected 500 million. The campaign, which Belgium among others initiated, aims at improving the lives of 30 million women and girls around the world, by promoting gender equality, girls' access to education, health, sexual and reproductive rights.
The campaign ended last week in Johannesburg with a huge concert commemorating the centenary of Nelson Mandela’s birth.
