Data collected by hundreds of thousands of birds watchers will be now be available on interactive cards that will trace the movements of migrating birds week after week. Eurobirdportal.org contains 30 million pieces of data on 15 bird species, collected from 2010 to 2013. It was presented and demonstrated on Saturday during “Green Week”. The images, taken every week, will allow users to follow Swallows, Green-winged Teals, Cranes, Short-eared Owls, Common Swifts, Herons, Waxwings, Black redstarts, White-fronted redstarts, Fieldfare thrushes, Song thrushes, Redwing thrushes, Large-eyebrowed warblers, Swift warblers, and Willow warblers.

Over the next month, the site’s creators hope to gather information on around fifty bird species. They hope to add data from 2014 to the project. The data, which was collected by bird watchers from 21 European countries, has been put together by the European Bird Census Council (EBCC).
