British authorities intercepted 656 migrants trying to cross the English Channel on Friday, the British Ministry of Defense confirmed on Saturday.
It is the 12th time that more than 600 people in search of a better future have tried to reach British shores in one single day.
In total, a record 32,321 migrants have already made the dangerous crossing this year, compared to 28,561 last year.
