Ukraine, under attack by Russia for over two years, received a fresh financial infusion of over €3.5 billion from the US on Monday.

This funding is a “vitally important contribution” to Ukraine's budget amid its resistance to full-scale Russian aggression, according to Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko.

The new funds will serve multiple purposes, such as paying teachers, civil protection personnel, and other civil servants, as well offering support to displaced people.

The US has contributed nearly €25 billion since the Russian invasion began in February 2022, the Finance Ministry disclosed.

Over the past two years, more than €90 billion has been raised globally to support Ukraine’s budget.

External donations account for over half of the country's budget this year.
