The US will send $550 million worth of new weapons to the Ukrainian military, White House spokesman John Kirby said on Monday.
The package includes ammunition for Himars systems, he said, adding that these were rocket launchers whose importance in the fight against the Russians has been growing.
With that, the United States will have provided more than US$8 billion in military aid to Kyiv, Kirby said.
