Boost your career with KU Leuven’s Master of Management Engineering

This academic year, the brand new Master of Management Engineering was launched on KU Leuven’s Brussels campus. As the first year of the programme draws to a close, the Faculty of Economics and Business looks back on an important year in which the first batch of students completed nearly an entire academic year.

Boost your career with KU Leuven’s Master of Management Engineering

The Master of Management Engineering offers a unique opportunity for those who want to boost their career with a unique combination of advanced quantitative knowledge and practical business skills. With classes in Brussels and in the famous university city of Leuven, the programme offers not only education at a highly regarded university, but also the incomparable experience of studying in the heart of Europe.

Designed specifically for international students, the programme features a dynamic curriculum that brings together engineering and managerial expertise, with a focus on practical applications and strategic thinking. Students are immersed in advanced statistical techniques, mathematical modeling and industrial management strategies, leaving them well equipped to meet the complex challenges of today's global market. It provides an answer to an important gap in the Belgian educational landscapenamely, a business master's programme with a strong quantitative slant, entirely tailored for students with a quantitative background (Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics).

After completing my bachelor's degree in physics, I wanted to broaden my knowledge and learn more about how companies work and what their social role is, viewed through a quantitative lens. The Master of Management Engineering completely met that desire. The unique combination of a broad course curriculum and quantitative focus ensures a deep understanding of each topic, and opens doors to various career perspectives in different fields. For Belgian students, it fills a gap in the study landscape. For international students, the programme offers the opportunity to apply quantitative knowledge in business economics, providing in-depth insights into the workings of businesses and their social importance.” - Raouf Kabbani (Belgium), student Master of Management Engineering.

What sets this programme apart is its interdisciplinary approach. In just two years, students gain a comprehensive understanding of economics, finance, marketing and sustainability, developing diverse skills needed to work in a variety of industries and positions.

Invaluable Network and Practical Experience

The programme involves more than just taking courses. As a student, you are also part of a vibrant community of scholars, innovators and future leaders. Through hands-on projects, internships and business partnerships, students have the opportunity to build an invaluable network and gain practical experience that will help them stand out in the job market.

The Master of Management Engineering at KU Leuven seamlessly bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world application. In Turkey, I worked as a product specialist at a game studio. The fact that the master's programme was aligned with industry trends was invaluable to me, as it allowed me to improve my skills while staying in touch with my career interests. The personal guidance from professors like Simon De Jaeger shows that the programme is truly designed to train students for success in their chosen field, which made my experience at KU Leuven very fulfilling." - Idil Bayar from Turkey, student Master of Management Engineering.

KU Leuven invites ambitious students with a passion for innovation and a desire to make a difference to join this exciting journey. Whether you are a recent graduate looking to launch your career or a seasoned professional looking to broaden your horizons, the Master of Management Engineering offers the perfect blend of academic depth and practical relevance to help you achieve your goals.

“The Master of Management Engineering at KU Leuven offers a diverse curriculum tailored to students with strong quantitative backgrounds. Despite the initial challenges inherent in new programmes, the small class size allows for smooth interaction with professors, ensuring personalized support. With a focus on emerging fields such as supply chain management, KU Leuven equips students with valuable skills for future job applications.”- Sara Abbottoni from Italy, student Master of Management Engineering.
