The Belgian railway company, SNCB, has issued a warning about fraudulent messages circulating online in its name.

Posted on Facebook, one such message offers a 2-euro gift card which supposedly allows free train travel for a year. SNCB stresses this is a scam.

These fake promotions are published by fraudsters aiming to extract bank details from their victims. The company advises passengers not to respond.

SNCB asks customers to trust only its official channels. The company notes that it communicates solely through its website and official social media accounts.

If travellers are unsure about a message or offer, they can contact SNCB via its website, social media, or by calling 02/528 28 28.

SNCB has reported these fraudulent messages to the relevant authorities. The company is also intervening to have them removed.
