For the third year running, the RTBF and the City of Mons will collaborate for the opening night concerts at the Ducasse festivities, set to take place on Mons' Grand-Place on 24th May.
A live broadcast on La Une will be aired from the kiosk near the stage on 24th May, starting from 20:15, setting the stage for the "Doudou" festival. The concert line-up, unveiled by RTBF on Friday, kicks off at 20:50, and includes Yannick Noah, performing in Belgium for the first time since 2022. Other acts include Belgian acts Alice on the Roof, Kid Noize and DJ Joss Mendosah.
The Ducasse de Mons will continue until 2nd June, offering an extensive programme featuring, in particular, the ritual festivities on Sunday 26th May. These events will involve approximately 1,600 participants and reach a climax with the reputed "Lumeçon" Combat between Saint George and the Dragon in the Grand-Place.
Numerous concerts, a Festival of Fanfares (from 25th to 28th May), and various attractions are scheduled across the city. The Mons festivities will conclude on 2nd June with the "Petit Doudou", a special event for children.
