Police in the Brussels-North zone (Schaerbeek, Evere and Saint-Josse-ten-Noode) have arrested a suspect believed to be involved in drug trafficking.
During three raids, officers uncovered 55 grams of cocaine, a BMW, 4,000 euros in cash, and a luxury watch, according to information received from the Brussels Prosecutor’s Office on Friday.
Previously, in September 2021, police in the Brussels-North zone had dismantled a drug trafficking network. The Brussels Magistrates’ Court consequently sentenced five defendants to prison terms and community service.
However, investigators noticed in early October 2023, that one of them had resumed drug dealing. A judiciary investigation was opened shortly afterwards.
This led to three more raids on Tuesday where they seized cocaine, a BMW car, cash, and a luxury watch. The judge on the case issued a warrant for the suspect, who is reportedly accused of illegal possession and drug dealing, either as the perpetrator or co-perpetrator.
