The 23rd edition of the Festival au Carré, to be held from 28 June to 7 July, kicks off the cultural summer in Mons with a diverse programme of indoor and outdoor performances.

The line-up includes concerts, a city-wide circus and dance trail, an 80s nostalgia trip, and a mock film set by the Compagnie des Six Faux Nez. There will also be parties, workshops, a family-focused day, and musical discoveries.

Hosted by the Surmars cultural hub in Mons, the event will take place at various venues across the city, including Arsonic Concert Hall, Le Manège Theatre, the Royal Theatre, Abel Dubois Auditorium, and the Jardins du Beffroi.

The festival’s opening night on 28 June will begin at 6 p.m. at Le Manège Theatre’s terrace with a 1980s cover band. Notable acts in the line-up include a concert by Sharko on 29 June from 8 p.m. at Theatre Le Manège, and world music from Compota de Manana on 30 June from 9 p.m.

Walloon jazz musician Guy Cabay will perform at Arsonic on 1 July, from 9 p.m., and the jazz mood will continue with the Lalo Zanelli Trio on 4 July, starting at 7 p.m.

The festival will conclude with a closing party at Maison Folie on 7 July from 6 p.m.
