The Poetik Bazar, Brussels’ poetry market and festival, will return to the Halles de Schaerbeek for its fourth edition in September, organisers announced Thursday.
Literature enthusiasts will find a “rich, multilingual and interactive” schedule from 20 to 22 September. Turkish poetry, curated by author and literary translator Canan Marasligil, will be a special feature this year.
Festival organisers have also revealed new features, including a stronger presence of Dutch poetry and an introduction to English poetry.
A total of around 100 publishing houses from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Canada (Quebec) will be setting up shop in the market lanes.
The long weekend is packed with events, including meetings, readings, book signings, creative workshops for adults and children, concerts and performances.
Admission to the bazaar, which is supported by a collective of associations, is free.
