The 40th edition of the Fête de la Musique will offer hundreds of free concerts spanning various music genres at different locations in Wallonia-Brussels Federation from 20 to 23 June.
In Brussels, the celebrations will be spread across 15 of the region's 19 municipalities. Concerts will be held in cultural venues such as BRASS and VK, in restaurants and libraries. Numerous parks and squares, including the Parc du Cinquantenaire with its two stages, will showcase a diverse mix of performances, taking pride in Belgium’s Francophone music scene.
Artists such as Doria D., Témé Tan, and Diego will perform on 21 and 22 June, succeeding the likes of La Femme, Flavien Berger and Françoiz Breut, two French artists who have found a home in the Belgian capital. The event is not just about music: the festive atmosphere will be complemented by food trucks, bars, and children’s workshops.
In Walloon Brabant, concerts and music activities are scheduled in Braine-l’Alleud, Lasne, Louvain-la-Neuve, Nivelles, Ophain, Rixensart, Villers-la-Ville, and Waterloo.
In Hainaut, the celebrations will extend to Binche, Braine-le-Comte, Fleurus, Marchienne-au-pont, Monceau-sur-Sambre, Mouscron, Pecq, Silly, Tournai and Charleroi, where “industrial aperitifs” will be staged at the Rockerill on 20 June.
Keeping up with the spirit, Liège province will host events across Flémalle, Fléron, Grivegnée, Jupille, Hannut, Harzé, Huy, Marchin and Welkenraedt, featuring a varied collection of music from pubs, venues, hostels, and public parks.
In the province of Luxembourg, the party will be in Arlon, Barvaux-sur-Ourthe, Durbuy, Izel, Marche-en-Famenne, Neufchâteau and Saint-Ode. The Compact Disk Dummies, Gustav Brass Band and Sara Dziri will be specific features at Place aux Foires in Marche-en-Famenne.
Finally, in Namur, the towns of Couvin, Floreffe and the Walloon capital will be involved. There, cultural sites like Belvédère and la Nef will host performers such as Winter Woods and Doria D., while Alice on the Roofwillo takes the stage in Couvin.
