Two individuals were arrested by a patrol from the Brussels-West police zone on Wednesday for possession of cannabis.
One of them was found in possession of more than 4 kg of cannabis, before being released by a judge pending further investigation.
The patrol witnessed a drug transaction between the two suspects, who are known to the police, during its security operation in and around public transport.
A body search of one of them led to the discovery of a block of 100.67 g of cannabis, a sum of €102 and a mobile phone, according to the local police area. "During the search of his home, our services found 4.382 kg of cannabis, a precision scale, €620 and a mobile phone," it added.
"The people involved were handed over to the Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office. One of them was referred to the examining judge. After a hearing, the judge released the person subject to conditions. The investigation is ongoing," said the police.
