The Brussels government plans to go ahead with a project to create an outdoor swimming pool at the Abattoirs site in Anderlecht, State Secretary Ans Persoons revealed on Friday.
The project will be implemented under a Design, Build, Finance, Maintain and Operate (DBFMO) contract.
According to Ms Persoons, the call for projects could be launched as early as this summer.
The Brussels government gave its final approval for the swimming pool’s creation in 2022. It is set to be built on the rooftop of Manufakture, a building situated at the location.
The incoming Brussels government is expected to select the operator by the end of this year.
