Public transport will be "heavily" disrupted in Brussels on Sunday as two different cycling races are taking place, the regional public transport operator STIB announced on its website.
Two cycling races will take place in Brussels on Sunday 16 June, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Both will end near the Atomium in the north of the city.
For the 40-km BXL TOUR, various squares and major roads between Place des Palais and the Atomium will be closed between 07:00 and 13:00. "Depending on conditions at the end of the race, the course will be gradually reopened afterwards," the police announced.
In the afternoon, the fifth stage of the Tour of Belgium – called the Baloise Sprint – will also take place in the Belgian capital. The race starts at 12:30 on the Avenue du Parc Royal and ends at around 17:15, also at the Atomium.
