Belgian start-up Mycoène, specialising in fatigue measurement technology, has raised €3 million to boost its growth.
The funds raised are aimed at accelerating the global commercialisation of the company’s device, with particular focus on the American market where a 2025 launch is planned.
Mycoène has developed a tool capable of measuring an individual’s muscle fatigue in two minutes, providing vital data to help high-performance athletes manage their fatigue and potentially avoid injury.
Back in March 2023, Mycoène received €2 million in funding which was intended for the preparation of the tool’s commercial release. Since then, the start-up has signed several contracts and CEO Jean-Yves Mignolet states that "over 850 athletes" have utilised the muscle fatigue measuring device.
Mignolet further reveals in his statement, "More than 2,500 measurements have been performed, enabling physical trainers to make training decisions based on objective information." This has also allowed for refinement of the tool.
The recent €3 million funding endeavours to fast-track the international commercialisation of Mycoène’s device, with an imminent American market launch slated for 2025.
Key players in this fundraising round include the Belgian investment fund Noshaq and Wallonia Entreprendre, the economic and financial arm of the Walloon Region.
