King Philippe is set to support the Red Devils in their second Euro 2024 match against Romania.

The monarch will travel to Cologne to watch the fixture, which is scheduled for 21:00 on Saturday, as revealed in a statement from the Royal Palace released on Tuesday.

Philippe visited the Red Devils at National Football Centre in Tubize on 4 June. On this occasion, he was guided by the team captain, Kevin De Bruyne, and the manager, Domenico Tedesco.

The king witnessed Belgium’s qualifying match against Estonia on 12 September last at the King Baudouin Stadium with a triumphant 5-0 scoreline.

Previously, at Euro 2020, he travelled to Denmark to cheer on the team in their second group match, which they won 2-1.

The Red Devils began Euro 2024 with a defeat after being beaten by Slovakia 0-1 in their first match on Monday.

In Frankfurt, Belgium went behind after an early goal from Schranz (7th minute). Lukaku scored twice in the second half, but VAR intervened both times to rule out the goals, including a late equaliser for handball.

The Red Devils came close to opening the scoring early on. Lukaku had two good chances in quick succession thanks to efforts from Doku, but he was denied once by Dubravka (3rd) and failed to capitalise on the second (5th).
