The Belgian Cycling Alliance, aimed at promoting Belgian cycling policies, was introduced at the Velo-city conference in Ghent on Wednesday.
"The idea is to showcase our achievements and future plans to the international community," the group expressed.
According to initiators, Belgium leads in many areas related to cycling, such as bike compensation for workers, road layouts, and industry innovations.
The Alliance, still in its early stages, is an initiative by MINT consultancy, The New Drive, and Traject. It received funding from the federal (€80,000), Brussels (€25,000), and Wallonia (€25,000) authorities.
The group is currently composed of 40 members, including authorities, businesses, and organisations related to cycling or mobility.
