Brussels restaurants to vie for Best Carbonnade award

About 30 Brussels-based restaurants will compete in the inaugural Brussels’ Best Carbonnade contest, running from 1 July to 30 August, event organiser BXLove announced on Thursday.

According to the non-profit association, the contest will celebrate Belgian gastronomy, honouring the traditional must-have carbonnade, and the expertise of the capital’s restaurateurs.

Participating venues include notable names like Vieux Saint-Martin, Manneken Pis Café, and Les Petits Oignons. The public can cast their votes online through the BXLove web page, https://bxlove.brussels/concours/, or by using a QR code at the location.

A panel of journalists, influencers, and local personalities will also evaluate the dishes, rating them for taste, presentation, and originality. The victorious restaurant will be awarded the title of 'Best Carbonnade in Brussels 2024.'
