The Ostend Beach festival is expecting around 25,000 attendees this weekend, according to Friday's announcement by organiser Kevin Beirens. The three-day event will feature a line-up of DJs such as Used, Average Rob and Dimaro.
Belgian electronic musician Unregular officially started the dance festival on Friday, taking centre stage. Despite the unpredictable weather at Ostend Beach, the organisers are feeling optimistic: "We expect it to improve, and there are plenty of tents for festival-goers to stay dry. If it does rain, we'll provide ponchos free of charge. The weather for the rest of the weekend promises to be mild."
The 15th instalment of the festival boasts over 100 national and international acts. Highlights include sets by Armand Van Helden and rising techno star Eli Brown, and a tribute show to Daft Punk by ROBOT ROCK ALIVE.
The opening day will round off with Average Rob and Omdat Het Kan Soundsystem. The line-up for the following day features Dave Lambert, DJ Licious and DiMaro, whilst Sunday will see performances by Jeroen Delodder, Push and Sam Divine.
Tickets for Ostend Beach are still available online. "We had strong early sales, but we're noticing that visitors are waiting to check the weather before making last minute decisions," explained Beirens.
