Bpost has introduced several new features to ease the process of sending and receiving registered mail, the company announced on Monday.

Registered mail is often used for the dispatch of important documents such as contracts, legal letters, and official communications.

The postal company stresses that it is essential to provide proof that the registered mail has been sent and received.

Now, users can receive such parcels after verifying their identity through the 'itsme' or 'My bpost' applications. They can also be alerted of a registered parcel’s arrival at their home via 'My bpost' notifications or an email alert.

Additionally, users can delegate someone else to collect their post by granting permission through a unique QR code.

Sending registered parcels has been streamlined via the 'My bpost' app. Customers can now create and print out a shipping label from their homes or for free at a post office. After the label is affixed to it, the registered mail can be dropped into any bpost postbox or at a post office. Digital delivery confirmations further provide instant traceability.

For now, these new features cater to private individuals, but bpost aims to extend them to all registered mail users in the future, including businesses.
