A knife-wielding robber targeted a Lidl supermarket in Châtelineau (just east of Charleroi) on Saturday night, making off with €200, reports have confirmed.

The suspect managed to carry out the burglary without brandishing his weapon, reportedly tucked in his belt, and subsequently fled on foot. This information arrives courtesy of Charleroi’s prosecuting authority, given out on Sunday morning.

Presently, there is no apparent connection between this robbery incident and a similar one that took place on 15 July at another Lidl establishment in Farciennes.
