Temploux, a quaint village in Namur with close to 2,000 residents, is set to reassume its position as Belgium’s top destination for flea market enthusiasts in mid-August.

About 180,000 visitors and 800 exhibitors are expected in the town on 17-18 August for the 45th edition of the Temploux Flea Market.

“Currently, around 95% of the 1,200 available spots have been reserved,” event spokesperson Isabelle Beudels-Hambenne revealed.  “This equates to just over 750 exhibitors, with some booking multiple spots. With a few small spots still available, we anticipate the total will again near 800.”

Predicting attendance numbers remains a challenge, Ms. Beudels-Hambenne explained, “We do not have an accurate counting method. However, much like last year, we are hoping for about 180,000 people to visit over the entire weekend. Naturally, the weather will have its say.”

Labelled ‘Belgium’s largest flea market,’ the event promises several attractions. On Saturday 17 August, TV celebrities Aurore Morisse, Stéphane Vanhandenhoven, and Glorian Kabongo from 'Affaire conclue' will be on site to appraise items.

A fireworks show is also scheduled for Saturday evening.

Sunday 18 August has been set aside for a comic festival featuring around ten illustrators and a traditional parade of vintage Volkswagens.

One of the biggest hits of 2023, the Lego Brick Mania exhibition, will once again be on display all weekend. Lego enthusiasts will be showcasing their Danish brick masterpieces at the Temploux Sports Hall. Visitors will also be able to buy and trade pieces.
