While the weekend has been largely cloudy, the sun is expected to make a more regular appearance at the start of next week, with temperatures approaching 30°C.
Saturday was marked by heavy cloudy spells alternating with some clearings, and even some local showers here and there, especially during the night and in the east of the country. Temperatures were also slightly cooler, reaching a maximum of 24°C in the centre of the country.
On Sunday, temperatures are expected to be the same, but the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) expects a few more showers, especially in the south and east. Clearings already present in the west will "gradually spread to other areas" but inland it will remain partly cloudy with a chance of light showers.
By the start of next week, the sun will make a more regular appearance. Monday will be dry across the country, with highs of 27°C.
Tuesday will also be mostly sunny, with a few clouds at times. In the centre of the country and to the north, temperatures will even reach 29°C. By Tuesday evening or night, the chance of thunderstorms will increase from the west, and on Wednesday morning, there is a temporary chance of showers.
However, clearings will spread from the west in the afternoon, with temperatures ranging between 20°C at the coast and 24°C inland.
