Around 30,000 people are expected to flock to Zeebrugge beach on Saturday and Sunday for the first weekend of the WECANDANCE electronic music festival, according to the event organisers.

Music lovers will be entertained by DJ sets that include talents such as Pachanga Boys, Lander & Adriaan, Zoey Hasselbank, Pegassi, Shirak and Faisal.

The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Drop in the Light, Rise in the Dark.’

“We have chosen a multi-layered theme that encompasses music, design and fashion," the festival's organisers explained. "We are offering our visitors the opportunity to integrate the duality of day and night into their outfits.”

A new stage, The Lighthouse, was introduced last year, while the other five stages have undergone a makeover for this year's edition. The food area has also been revamped and will now host DJs.

The second weekend of the festival, 10-11 August, will feature Reinier Zonneveld, Hakimm, Jeroen Delodder and The Soul Brothers.
