An online tool which connects Brussels residents with green spaces and nature resources has been revamped.

Brussels Gardens is a website managed by the Brussels Environment agency. The page acts as an online directory for parks and forests in Brussels and all they have to offer, from quiet reading spots and family activities to historical monuments or flora and fauna.

Brussels Environment announced in a press release published on Friday that the site has been upgraded to make it easier for users to find what they are looking for in Brussels' green spaces. Individuals may now filter their searches and locate a nearby forest or park tailored to their needs.

"Whether you're looking for a playground, a quiet spot by the water, or want to learn more about local flora and fauna, Brussels Gardens has something for everyone," the agency stated.

Sound walks and meditative tours

Digital experiences such as a sound walk at the gate of the Sonian Forest, an improved visitor experience in the Jean Massart botanical garden and a meditative tour of the Vogelenzang are also available to accompany outdoor trips.

There is also a selection of walking, cycling and running trails to choose from. The site lists each route's length, gradient, location and the municipalities and green areas crossed. Users can also see which guinguettes (outdoor summer bars) are nearby.

A news section includes details about events and resources in all Brussels parks and forests.

Brussels Environment encourages everyone to respect outdoor spaces by keeping dogs on a lead (except in officially designated areas), leaving flowers and mushrooms alone rather than picking them, refraining from feeding wild animals and throwing away rubbish.
