Several Crelan bank branches were evacuated on Monday after receiving an email with various threats. The bank evacuated its Anderlecht and Berchem offices, local media report.

“We received an email with threats directed at Crelan on Monday morning,” confirmed Crelan spokesperson Caroline Beauvois to Gazet van Antwerpen, adding that the police have been informed and have begun investigating.

Following the evacuation in the Antwerp district of Berchem, the police are on site to sweep the office building. “We don’t want to take any risks,” said a police representative.
