The French-speaking spokesperson of outgoing Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Open Vld), will join the RTL Belgium in mid-October as head of news at RTL Info, the private broadcaster announced on Tuesday.
François Bailly’s remit will be to assist the news director in reflecting on and shaping the news department’s strategy. He will implement the RTL Belgium’s editorial policy across its three platforms, with the aim of maintaining leadership in linear programming and bolster digital offerings, the company said.
Bailly, 39, joined the Prime Minister’s cabinet in 2021, after a journalistic stint at L'Echo daily newspaper.
After graduating in Journalism and Communication from the Université libre de Bruxelles, he first joined the economic daily in 2008, in the Business section, which he headed from 2016 before becoming editor-in-chief in 2018.
