Eight Belgian soldiers have undergone trial in Molde, Norway, for their involvement in a massive brawl at a bar in the Norwegian city of Åndalsnes in February 2020.
Military personnel from a commando battalion in Flawinne (Namur), Belgium, were involved in the incident on the night of 17/18 February 2020.
Six people were reportedly injured in the altercation, Norwegian media has reported. All eight suspects are being accused of severe bodily harm, for which they could face up to six years in prison.
Each soldier will have to travel back to Norway to stand trial. Additionally, several Belgians are set to give evidence via video, including a captain from the Belgian defence force.
