Businesses, general public urged to refresh knowledge of traffic rules

In support of Mobility Week, the Walloon Agency for Road Safety (AWSR) is encouraging companies and citizens to update their knowledge of traffic laws using the 'Road Quiz.'

This entertaining challenge aims to promote road safety during commutes, AWSR announced on Monday.

Sponsored by comedian and radio host Jérôme de Warzée, a former driving instructor, Road Quiz ends on 16 October.

According to insurer Axa, nearly one in five workplace accidents (17%) in 2023 occurred during commutes. These accidents often result in longer absences, averaging 28 days off work, compared to 20 days for other workplace incidents.

Through Road Quiz, the AWSR seeks to raise awareness on commuting safety among companies and their employees.

So far, over 140 Walloon companies have registered. The AWSR is aiming for around 400 participants annually.

Participating companies will receive a detailed report for internal awareness, while employees can win public prizes.

As of Monday, the game is also freely accessible to citizens, enabling everyone to refresh their knowledge.

An AWSR survey revealed that only 46% of Walloon drivers believed they could pass their theory test without prior revision.
