A worker from the Walloon Water Company (SWDE) died on Thursday after being crushed by a construction vehicle in Lamine, Remicourt, according to the Hesbaye emergency zone and local police.
The accident occurred around 11:30 along Chemin des Pigeons, between the villages of Lamine and Momalle in Remicourt.
SWDE agents were working in a trench when a digger slipped and crushed one of them.
The worker, a Villers-le-Bouillet resident born in 1970, was already deceased when emergency services arrived.
The construction vehicle’s driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Another worker in the trench at the time was deeply shocked by the incident and also received assistance from rescuers.
The labour inspectorate was present at the scene.
