A person was injured with a sharp object on Friday in the Brussels commune of Schaerbeek, according to the Brussels North police zone.
The victim’s life is no longer in danger.
“Around 7 am, a patrol was dispatched for an individual injured by a sharp object in the neck,” stated police spokesperson Katlien Breugelmans. The incident occurred on Rue de Brabant.
The altercation reportedly began with a verbal dispute and escalated into physical violence between the victim and a group of individuals.
“One of the individuals allegedly broke a piece of glass and stabbed the victim in the neck,” Breugelmans added.
Emergency services quickly attended to the victim, who is now out of danger.
A suspect has been apprehended. An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
