There was no major traffic disruption in Brussels on Wednesday morning despite a planned protest by farmers, according to the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone.

The demonstration was organised by the Walloon farming organisation Fugea in protest at the EU-Mercosur deal. The police had anticipated traffic issues from early morning, but none have occurred so far.

The Reyers and Loi tunnels towards the city centre remained open at 10:30 despite announced closures.

The protest began in the European district at 11:00, but the police have reported relatively limited participation.
