Rain is expected to start the day on Monday, giving way to clearer skies and some showers in the afternoon, with temperatures ranging from 7° to 11°C, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).
The morning will begin with heavy cloud cover and periods of rain or drizzle. In the afternoon, the western and central regions of the country can expect partly cloudy skies and occasional showers, which will eventually move to the eastern and southeastern parts.
There is a chance of thunder, particularly in the west. Temperatures will be milder, ranging from 7° in the High Ardennes to 11° in Lower and Middle Belgium. Winds will be moderate, shifting from south-west to west-south-west. Along the coast, the south-west wind will gradually strengthen to become quite strong from the west.
In the evening and overnight, cloud cover will increase again from the west and north-west, followed by periods of rain. Clear spells will return later, but there will still be a risk of showers. Minimum temperatures will vary between 3° and 7°. Winds will shift from west to south-west, eventually turning from west to north-west. Along the coast, winds will remain quite strong in the evening, with gusts up to 50 km/h, before easing later to moderate from the north-north-west.
On Tuesday, the cloud cover will be variable with a few showers, which should become less frequent from the north-west by the end of the day. Light sleet is possible on the Ardennes peaks. Maximum temperatures will range from 3° in the High Ardennes to 8° in the west of the country. Winds will be light to moderate.
Wednesday is expected to be generally dry but as the day progresses there will be more sunshine and maximum temperatures between 3° and 7°.
