Some 3,924 jobs are available in the hospitality, tourism, retail, transport, and logistics sectors as the end-of-year holidays approach, the Walloon Government employment agency (Forem) announced on Friday.
Job listings can be accessed through Forem's website or app. Forem is the public employment and vocational training service in Wallonia, but advertises roles across all regions in Belgium.
Forem said that hospitality and tourism industries are significantly increasing recruitment to strengthen their teams and ensure quality service for their customers throughout the busy holiday period.
A total of 1,189 positions are open in these sectors, including receptionists, waiters, bartenders, cooks, and front-desk staff.
The retail sector is also actively hiring, seeking 818 cashiers and sales assistants to provide efficient service to Christmas shoppers.
Transport and logistics sectors are offering 1,967 job opportunities for positions such as personal and public transport drivers, delivery personnel, logistics managers, and administrative staff for international goods' circulation.
Forem highlighted that these sectors seek personnel year-round – not only during the holidays – and offer training for most occupations.
