Operation Viva for Life has raised €8,813,551 to fight child poverty, RTBF reported on Monday evening. The 12th edition of the event started last Tuesday in Seraing (outskirts of Liège).

Three RTBF presenters spent 144 hours in a glass cube to collect funds. For six days and nights, Fanny Jandrain, Walid, and Ophélie Fontana gathered numerous touching testimonies.

These testimonies were shared on RTBF radio, the cube’s donation box, and during the daily TV programme.

Meanwhile, Sara De Paduwa visited several Christmas markets in Brussels and Wallonia as part of the Belfius Viva for Life Tour. At each stop, actions supporting the event were highly successful.

This year’s amount surpassed the previous record set in 2023, when €8,466,888 was raised. Partner Belfius contributed €816,170 to the total.
