A man who stole a digger and targeted vehicles and a building was shot dead by police in Grünsfeld, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on Tuesday.
One police officer was seriously injured during the incident.
The suspect had stolen the digger from a construction company and caused significant damage to several vehicles and a building.
The police pursued the man as he broke through several roadblocks. Officers then opened fire on the driver, who died at the scene. His motives are unknown.
On X (formerly Twitter), the police suggested a possible fit of rage.
