Emergency services had to use a raft to save a man from a park pond in Brussels, the Fire Brigade reported on Tuesday.

Around 12:35 the Brussels Fire Brigade and emergency medical services attended the incident at a park at the corner of Avenue de Tervueren and Boulevard du Souverain.

A surveyor got stuck in the mud of a drained pond while taking measurements. The fire brigade used an inflatable raft from their diving vehicle to rescue the man.

He was taken to the hospital to check for signs of hypothermia.
