The Flemish Government has approved the pilot project 'Klimaatsprong', which will support companies in reducing CO2 emissions with a budget of €70 million.
Specifically, large companies emitting at least 10,000 tonnes of CO2 can receive up to €2 million per year for ten years. Support will be based on the CO2 reduction achieved, with priority given to projects that offer the highest CO2 reduction per euro of subsidy.
"Today, our industry faces high energy prices and loses competitiveness compared to foreign countries. With this targeted investment, we aim to support the Flemish industry in this challenging economic period," said Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele (N-VA).
"If we want to secure the prosperity of our region, we need to equip our industry so companies can engage in the energy transition in an economically viable way," he added.
