Ghent-based start-up IntelliProve has raised €1.25 million in fresh capital from Flemish investor Miles Ahead, the Wit-Gele Kruis non-profit for home nursing, imec.istart fund – which finances tech start-ups – and several Belgian tech entrepreneurs.
The software start-up has developed a health scan that measures parameters such as heart rate, respiration, and stress using a smartphone camera.
The optical face scan provides “digital biopsies” which can be used in preventive healthcare.
The software gathers health information by detecting subtle colour changes caused by blood flow in the face.
Founded in 2021, IntelliProve has been working from the start with health organisations such as the Wit-Gele Kruis, nursing home operator Zorg-Saam, imec.istart, and TU Delft, a Dutch university. Last year, the software was tested by home nurses of the Wit-Gele Kruis organisation.
The company operates in seven Western European countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and France. In Belgium, its clients include health insurers Helan and Neutraal Ziekenfonds Vlaanderen.
The company’s revenue quadrupled in 2024.
At the current pace, IntelliProve aims to have performed 10 billion health measurements by 2028.
