Bertelsmann, the German company behind media conglomerate RTL Group, has signed a deal with OpenAI to utilise its popular ChatGPT chatbot.
The company claims that the chatbot will enhance the efficiency of its daily operations.
Bertelsmann also plans to collaborate with OpenAI on developing new methods for creating and distributing video, audio, and text.
Other projects within the deal include improving marketing efforts, such as personalised book recommendations, given Bertelsmann’s ownership of publishing house Penguin Random House.
Additionally, the partnership aims to enhance search functions in streaming services.
The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, and OpenAI will not have access to Bertelsmann’s archives.
